Hospital CCC

Typical equipment had been installed at this brand new center so they could get licensed to open, but the director wanted it all gone, and a natural playground in its place.

The site was a total of 11,000 square feet, about half of which was stretched in narrow bands along both sides of this long building.

Fortunately, the infant care was on one of those sides, so we were able to fit their relatively small play elements along this side. The other side became the “great woods” with a winding path for the older children.

The triangular-shaped end became the natural playground for the preschoolers, and contained all the elements the teaching staff wanted: gardens, a flowing stream water play, sand play, fruit trees, sledding hill, embankment slide, amphitheater with stage, arbor swings, a labyrinth, balance beam, storage trees, bridges, and much more.
